How to Make Outdoor Curtain Rods

Materials You'll Need
- Pressure-treated lumber (2" x 4" or 2" x 6")
- Wood screws
- Lag bolts
- Outdoor curtain fabric
- Curtain rings
Instructions
- Cut the lumber to the desired length. For a 6-foot wide opening, you'll need two 3-foot lengths of lumber.
- Drill a hole for a lag bolt at each end of the lumber. The holes should be about 1 inch from the edge and at least 2 inches deep.
- Attach the lumber to the wall or fence using lag bolts. Make sure the lumber is level.
- Measure and cut the curtain fabric to the desired length. The fabric should be about twice as wide as the opening.
- Fold the top hem of the fabric over and sew it down. Then, insert the curtain rings into the hem.
- Hang the curtains on the curtain rods and enjoy your new outdoor space!
