How To Build An Outdoor Wood Table
Building an outdoor wood table is a great way to add extra seating and style to your backyard or patio. It's also a relatively easy project that can be completed in a weekend. Here are the steps on how to build an outdoor wood table:
Materials:
- 4x4 cedar posts (4)
- 2x6 cedar planks (8)
- 1x6 cedar boards (8)
- Wood glue
- 1 1/4-inch wood screws
- Sandpaper
- Polyurethane
Tools:
- Circular saw
- Drill
- Clamps
- Sander
- Paintbrush
Instructions:
1. Cut the wood:- Cut the 4x4 cedar posts to the desired height of the table.
- Cut the 2x6 cedar planks to the desired length of the table.
- Cut the 1x6 cedar boards to the desired width of the table.
- Attach the 2x6 cedar planks to the 4x4 cedar posts using wood glue and 1 1/4-inch wood screws.
- Make sure the frame is square and level.
- Apply wood glue to the top of the frame.
- Place the 1x6 cedar boards on top of the frame and align them evenly.
- Secure the boards to the frame using 1 1/4-inch wood screws.
- Sand the table to remove any rough edges.
- Apply a coat of polyurethane to the table to protect it from the elements.
