Build Your Own Outdoor Fireplace: A Step-by-Step Guide

2. Dig the Foundation

Excavate a level pit for the fireplace base, ensuring it is larger than the base of the fireplace. Line the pit with gravel or crushed rock for drainage.

3. Build the Base

Lay a layer of fireproof bricks on the foundation, forming the perimeter of the fireplace. Use mortar to secure the bricks in place, creating a solid base.

4. Construct the Walls

Stack the fireproof bricks in a staggered pattern, overlapping the joints. Continue building the walls, leaving openings for the firebox and chimney. Use mortar to bond the bricks and level the walls.

5. Install the Firebox
