Instructions

Prepare the site. Choose a level location for your fireplace. Remove any grass or vegetation from the area. Dig a hole that is 24 inches deep and 36 inches wide.
Install the concrete blocks. Place the concrete blocks in the hole, making sure that they are level. Backfill the hole with gravel and tamp it down.
Build the firebox. Line the inside of the firebox with fire bricks. Use mortar to hold the bricks in place.
Install the pavers. Place the pavers on top of the concrete blocks. Use mortar to hold the pavers in place. Leave a space between the pavers for expansion.
Install the chimney. Install the chimney cap on top of the fireplace. Secure the chimney cap with mortar.
